TWIN DAY!

Last Friday my school had a spirit day that our student council put together. We were supposed to come to school dressed like someone else for Twin Day. Another first grade teacher and I came to school dressed exactly alike! Freddy Teddy (my bear) and Cocoa (Miss PF's bear) also participated in the spirit day. Freddy and Cocoa are very special bears to our first graders. Freddy was created with my class last year(thanks to Miss PF for the brilliant idea!). Each student was able to add stuffing and a special wish on a heart (thanks to Build-A-Bear for allowing me to take the bear parts with me and not making me complete my bear in the store! They also gave me 20 hearts too!). My class then gave him a name and Freddy Teddy came to be. This is Freddy's second year of adventures! Each student gets to take Freddy home for the weekend and then they record their adventures with Freddy in his journal that travels with him as well.

Freddy has had some fun adventures including traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah with one of my students last year and meeting Alicia Sacramone (a US Olympic gymnast) this year with one of my current students. Freddy has many more adventures to come this year and in the years to come!
