This year was Jack's first Super Bowl game, and we were so lucky that the Patriots were in it this year! We aren't really avid football fans in our house, but we will watch the game when the Patriots are playing. They were playing against the New York Giants, so CT is divided between the two teams pretty evenly. Unfortunately the Super Bowl doesn't start until 6:30pm, so Jack was already in bed by the time the game got underway, but he did get to hear Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton sing America and Kelly Clarkson sing The Star Spangled Banner during the pregame show. That didn't stop him from supporting his team, complete with a Patriots onesie, a Patriots hat and he wore his Patriots PJ's to bed. The only thing that could make it better would be to have a tiny Patriots football to play with!
At halftime, the Patriots were ahead by 1 point, 9 to 10. Madonna did the half time show, but I'm pretty sure she lip synced the whole entire show. Oh well, it was still pretty good! With two minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Patriots were up by 2 points, 15 to 17. With one minute left, the NY Giants made a touchdown, making it near impossible for the Patriots to pull this one out. After a few dropped balls, and a missed pass after the clock was out, the NY Giants won 21 to 17. Oh well Patriots, maybe next year!
